PRUDENCE EASY VEST IN REALITY

How many times have you started a project and then frogged it because the yarn and the project just didn't talk to each other? Ok, that's not unusual, but how many times did you frog one that was working to start the yarn in a NEW project? Ah, that start-itis. I did it here.

Started doing another "snuggle" with the Reality Bachelor, but "fell" across Berroco's Prudence-Easy vest pattern and, it just had to be. More confirmation is, I'm almost finished with the back and haven't been bouncing around WIPs since I started it. Sat in "Le Doc-tor's" office today feeling lousy and realized I'd just knitted about 5 rows of it with my eyes closed and my head propped against the wall dozing. Even better .... no oopsies in those 5 rows.

Calico T

Of course, the magazine isn't handy so I can't tell you which one the pattern is in right now, or the "real" name of it, but it's a good one. Fairly simple to follow, alternates stockinet and garter stitches to create a pattern that looks intricate but isn't.

I'm using the Berroco Calico in the Blue and white mix and it's just great to knit with and works perfect for this pattern. I've got the back done and about 1/4 of the front. The neat thing about this one is that it can be a T / Shell during the summer and a "vest" when the weather is cooler. Dang my knitting ADD that keeps me bouncing from one project to another. I'd have been wearing it all spring and summer if I'd just knitted it start to finish. Ah the pitfalls of the addiction. lol.

Candlelight Shawl

Wandering throught the Knitpicks cataloge they had a pic of a lacy shawl done in beautiful shades of turquoise. Yep, it crawled into my brain and wouldn't rest until I purchased the yarn ... the pattern is a free download.

I'm using the Shimmer (alpaca silk) in the Turquoise Splendor colorway. The pattern is called "Candlelight" or "Candleflame" something. Since it's in it's hibernation turn right now, I'll have to look it up.

What is it with me and lace lately? hahaha

Cozumel Scarf

Imagine, Euroflax linen in Aqua all lacy and airy. As soon as I found out about the Cruise, I immediately had a hankering for a classy stole/scarf, then I saw the Euroflax and, the rest is addict history. lol.

So what if we've scheduled a different scarf for the cruise project, I'll do that one too! lol you know how it is .. (giggle)

Panda Wool Socks

I'm experimenting and using itty bitty needles, size 0. I'm really liking the fabric the smaller needles give. The Panda Wool is luscious too. The Panda Wool will definitely go down as a fav sock yarn!

I've got those "old" feetsies that, even though I go barefoot as much as possible, want soft smooth stitches not bumpy ones ... or scratchy. It's yummy

Much as I love my Knit Picks yarns, the Simple Stripes is rather scratchy. They had a Sampler of the Simple Stripes with 2 skeins of each colorway, but the itchy.....

V-Neck Shell

This puppy is being knitted with Cotton Twist in a colorway called "Tile". Tile is actually a beautiful shade of intense peach. The only bad thing about Cotton Twist is it splits so easily so it's not good for me to work on during a traffic jam .... I have to pay too much attention to it, lol.

I've got the back completed and about 1/4 of the front, but since we actually started getting cold weather here, I'm more in the mood to work on "warmer" stuff like the Snowflake Sweater, my shawl or socks. I'll throw it in my bag to take on the cruise though, being on the ship will probably "inspire" me to work on it there.

Snuggle Shawl

This is a comfy project, no stress, no rules, no pattern. With just a basic idea in mind (yarnovers along the edges) this one is my RELAX project, you know, the kind you can work on while chatting, watching tv, in the movies, at the doctor's office, in a traffic jam, without having to keep up with what you're doing.

I'm using some Berroco Foliage I picked up at Neighborhood Knit Shop on sale. If you're not familiar with the yarn, it's variagated, with red, rusts, greens and purples and the yarn varies from thick to thin so it just cries to be something relaxed and unformal, perfect for this.

Snowflake Sweater

Round and round I go. This sweater is going to be just a regular shaped pullover with a v-neck (for now) with a snowflake pattern across the chest. I'm experimenting (ok, I know, I always experiment). i'm working in the round up to the armholes, then, I'm going to divide the front and back, working with separate balls for each side. I haven't figured out exactly how I'm going to do the sleeves, or even how I'm going to join them to the sweater. I'll just think of something when I get there.
